After watching its picturesque beach, Crystal clear water, diversity of exotic fauna and flora and coral reefs any one can’t stop but fall in love with this place. Here you can enjoy all types of water activities like scuba diving, water sailing, snorkelling, kayaking and many more. To see only active volcano in Indian subcontinent is a very different experience or you can enjoy sunrise and sunset in peace. If it is a honeymoon trip than candlelight dinner with your better half at beach side is just like a dream. Many people have some misconceptions for Andaman and Nicobar just like helicopter service is not available for tourists, kayaking is presently not available, one can not visit barren island and some more but these all are absolutely false.Visit to cellular jail in Port Blair remembered us the value of our freedom bestowed on us by our brave freedom fighters.

Andaman and Nicobar is a group of 572 islands surrounded by bay of Bengal.Out of 572 only 38 islands are permanently habitat by People.Port Blair is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar. Tourist activities are found only in Andaman because most of the people live in Nicobar group of islands are tribal and they don’t enjoy the interference of outsiders. Andaman has 325 islands while Nicobar is a group of only 24 islands.

Climate of Andaman and Nicobar Is tropical with 80%humidity and average temperature between 22°c to 31°c. There is no hot summer or chilled winter season.Rainfall occurs twice a year. South West monsoon sets in end of May to July while north east monsoon towards November to January. May to September is best time for Nature loverto visit Andaman and Nicobar because at this time high waterfall and green forest make up nature like a new bride. December to April is best time for Divers and for Birds watchingwinter months is best.

How to reach at Andaman Nicobar

You can go Andaman and Nicobar group of island by either air or water way

AIR ROUT: In Andaman the only Airport is Veer Sawarkar International airport in Port Blair directly connected with Chennai, Bhubaneshwar and Calcutta airport. Many airlines such as Jet air ways, Air India, Go airoffers daily flight from Chennai , Bhubaneshwar and Calcutta, which take about 2 hours to reach at Port Blair. Flights Are also available from Pune, Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai which travel via Chennai or Calcutta and take 5 hours to reach at destination .

WATER WAYS:If you like to do journey by water ways than you can easily get ships from Chennai, Calcutta and Vishakhapatnam. It will take about 60-70 hours to reach at Port Blair. It is cheaper than airways.

Misconceptions about Andaman and Nicobar

People don't visit to this heavenly place just because of some misconceptionsdue to lack of knowledge.Some misconceptions are as You can’t visit the Barren Island

Barren island islocated 140 km away from Port Blair in Northeast. As it’s name it is barren, not habitat by human and a very few species of flora and fauna are found there, some of them became endangered.It is the only active volcano in a chain of volcano from Sumatra to Myanmar.Barren island comes under restricted zone. To visit this place you need to get permission from forest department. charter boat is only option to go barren island. It takes about 5 hours to reach at Barren island and night stay is not allowed so you need to start your journey in early morning at about 3-4 am. To get a splendid experience of BarrenIsland you need to spend a hefty amount. It coast about 2 lakh for one round of 6-8 person.

Barren Island is famous as world’s best Scuba Diving site. It would be a amazing experience to watch a Active Volcano not in television but in reality. Other than Volcano, Manta Ray, Basalt Formationand Topography of Past LavaFlaws are also centre of attraction and the beauty of Coral Reefs is just wonderful.

Mud volcano is not fascinating as . Mud volcano is another good place to visit in Andaman island. It is located near to Baratang Jetty. It is a one day journey. In this trip you will not only enjoy Mud volcano but all trip is full of excitement. It includes, scenery of dense tropical forest, get chance to see Jarwan tribe's people, lime stone caves, and boat ride through Mangroves. The journey start early in morning at 3 am. FromPort Blair to Baratang Jetty is a road trip. The road goes through Jarwan Tribal Reserve. Its a good experience to go through dense tropical forest and see the tribal people. From Baratang island boat services available for crossing the sea. It is a breath taking ride on fibre boat but enjoyable too. The next stoppage is Uttara jetty. From this place Mud volcano is about 20 minutes journey by road. The standard package for this trip include Lime Stone Caves also. From Uttara jetty tourist first go to lime stone caves and after visiting that place return back to Uttarra Jetty and then go for Mud Volcano.After visiting Mud volcano you can enjoy a delicious lunchin restaurant locatednear the Mud Volcano.Each journey gives some new token of memories which make it unforgettable. Kayaking is Presently not available If you are going to Andaman and Nicobar and you have never experience the KAYAKING before then you must enjoy this amazing water sport at Andaman islands. Havelock island is the place where you can enjoy kayaking.The beauty of its pristine white sand beach and diversified fauna and flora is just unexplainable .First of all you will get training from certified instructor. After training you will explore the natural beauty of diversified Mangroves through kayaking and twittering sound of birds increase the beauty of this visit ten times.Andaman has 1/5 of India's total Mangroves and different variety of birds.In one day maximum 10 seats allowed. Trip includes refreshment, life jacket and a certified instructor.. Prior confirmation of ticket is must.The trip is depend on weather If weather is not good than trip will get cancelled and money will be refunded.

Parasailing is not available Parasailing is also known as Para kitingand one of the most interesting water sports in Andaman island which can be enjoyed by any non swimmer. You can enjoy this game at Havelock island. From Port Blair government ferries and private cruise both are available to reach Havelock island. During parasailing you will experience both water and air adventure. In parasailing you are tied behind a motor boat while harnessed in a specially designed canopy known as flying wings.It will lift you high in the air and you will fly like a kite. Here the driver of boat is the only controller and you can even ask him to throw you into water and again pick you to the heights. It is most thrilling and incredible experience.

Sea plane is not flying since last two years It’s awonderful experience to see the areal view of Andaman Islands in a sea plane. It is India's first ever commercial sea plane operation in Andaman Island.Pawan Hans helicopter in association with Andaman and Nicobar islandadministration isproviding thisservice by 9 seaterCessna 208 A seaplane. You will board from Port Blair air port and lands on sea near the Havelock island dock. It take about 25 minutes from port Blair to reach at Havelock island . Per head it cost about Rs.4100. You will get to see the areal view of Ross Island, North bay island, Mount Harriet, cellular jail, Port Blair and sailing ship during your fly, dense tropical forest, picturesque beach. No one should miss to get the experienceto see the beauty of this pristine islands from its top.

Helicopter service is not for tourists. Helicopter service is available in Andaman islands for inter island transport for both tourist and islanders. This service is provided by Pawan Hans private limited helicopter company in association with Andaman and Nicobar administration.

You can't ride jet ski by yourself. If you are a non swimmer and still want to make your Andaman trip unforgettable than Jet Ski is one of the most exciting water sports which surely give you a high adrenalin rush. There is no need of special training to zoom around jet ski. Jet ski requires a powered water scooter that is accelerated by a powerful engine. Anybody can drive Jet Ski however it need proper caution from driver. To ride on a Jet ski is a dream for adventure lover.

You can enjoy this wonderful water sport at Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex at a nominal rate. Don't miss to wear life jacket and listen the advice of instructor carefully. It is dangerous to go on a jet ski ride in a bad weather. Jet ski ride truly mesmerizing for every adventure lover whether adult or teenager.
